These here Barred Rock hens needed a new winter home soooo……….Here they are. If you’ve never had farm fresh  organic eggs….WELL you might not understand the excitement !  Unexplainable in words, it’s all in the taste buds !

Then when spring comes they will be our garden pest controlers and entertainment for our cutomers. Eat local and……..ENJOY.

This time of year you just never know what colors will bring out the texture of the landscape. Some are so vivid yet only singularly while others combine to form such beauty you just can’t look away. So I’ll share with you today a favorite spot of mine. Well off the beaten path. But tranquil. Enjoy.

Vermonts finest.

Well here it is…fall again. So fast the days of summer get left behind, only to say goodby with a flush of color and the smells of Autumn. Fresh apples steaming in a fine pie crust. Cider doughnuts and apple sauce ! Yes, it is sad to see the warm days disappear, however, we would not have these fall sights and smells with out the passing of summer. Enjoy every day ahead for it will soon be a white blanket and fall shall pass too. ENJOY.

Fall is here.

Well, here we are, FALL. Time to put the gardens to rest and button up the house. A time for a long-sleeved ”blouse” and occasionally a lite tuke on your head in the mornings.  Soon the skies will fill with the sound of migratory birds and our fine feathered friends will return to our feeders. Yes, it is here….again.  Enjoy.

TREE"S A CHANGING.......

Summer has been very good to us this year. Some of our tomatoes and herbs simmering today.  Soon to head to pantry for winter warmth. Cold chilly day ? Jar -o- fresh soup ! Company ? Jar -o- fresh sauce for pasta ! And let us not forget…a sip of tomato wine for to wash it all down !  Bring on the winter !! (just kidding…calm down now !) Enjoy.

AH, THE AROMA !

Ah, the smell of fresh mowed hay ! But the scent of autumn is in the air. Leaves have begun to transform into a wonderful pallet of colors. Soon frost will greet us and the geese will fill the air on the migration south. Most wonderful time of year here in the northeast. And, if you listen closely, the sound of fire wood being piled high for the winter can be heard…yes..it will come. Have no doubt.   Enjoy.

SUMMER VIEW

We all have times in our lives that things just seem to go awry, no matter what. Other days are just perfect…..until !    This turned out to be one of those days for my neph. While joyfully playing with his children is when things went “awry” for him ! As you can see by the photo…he’s one great dad !

JUST BEING A DAD.

Well, looks like mother nature provided us with another set of twins this year ! To watch these guys from a vantage point sure is amazing. They love to play and “frolic” around. I’ll tell ya though, one sound and their ears are up and they are alert ! Enjoy.

Hey what's that ?!

Well there I was, sitting in the `office’ tree, minding my own, waiting for that big ole bear that’s been leaving his calling card on the forest floor. When the leaves suddenly start to rustle, , thump, the ole heart on high alert ! Unable to pin point the noise or direction, seems close, too close ! Then I realize it is coming from under the tree….lean forward, carefully, OMG ! Mr. porcupine had found my hiding spot ! We chatted for a while, snapped off some `shots’ and then we parted ways for another day ! Enjoy.

Grandkids have their own little “WAYS” about them. This young fella has mastered the art of deception…..”grampa, look over there”…ya right !! He climbs, crawls, walks, talks and o yes….”But me two now”. Can’t argue with that !  He’s either going to be an actor or….a politician ! Not much difference I guess !  Enjoy.
